Glen Breton Distillery Wins Best Whisky Award

Glen Breton Single Malt Whisky Awards New York

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Nova Scotia, Canada – Following the conclusion of the 12th annual New York International Spirits Competition (NYISC), Glen Breton is celebrating a trio of major successes. The renowned Canadian distillery outperformed a massive field of over 1,400 entrants from 39 countries to take home more than one best whisky award distinction for its premium single malts.

A Triple Victory for Canadian Craftsmanship

In a year that saw a record-breaking increase in competition, Glen Breton emerged as one of Canada’s most decorated winners. The NYISC is uniquely respected in the industry as the only international spirits event judged by active trade buyers—the very people who decide what hits the shelves.

The distillery secured the following accolades:

  • Glen Breton Rare 10-Year: Gold Medal Winner (Categorized as a “Trade Favorite”)
  • Glen Breton Rare 14-Year: Bronze Medal Winner
  • Glen Breton Rare 19-Year: Bronze Medal Winner

“Our team at Glen Breton Distillery is filled with pride to see our products internationally recognized,” says Lauchie MacLean, President of Glenora Distilleries. “We continue to strive to create wonderful single malts that can be enjoyed around the world.”

Award-Winning Flavor Profiles

Each recipient of the best whisky award at this year’s event was commended for its complex and distinct character:

  • The 10-Year (Gold): Previously rated in the Top 50 Spirits Worldwide by Wine Enthusiast, this whisky impressed judges with notes of tobacco, maple, cherry, and a spiced chocolate finish.
  • The 14-Year (Bronze): A previous Triple Gold winner at the Micro Liquor Awards, noted for its smooth palate of apple, heather, honey, and maple.
  • The 19-Year (Bronze): A mature expression that further solidifies Glen Breton’s commitment to long-aged premium spirits.
